In the private sector, the scales are decided by the management of the company and are approximately Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000 per month plus perks. Engineering graduates with management degrees get a starting salary of Rs.30,000 to Rs.40,000 per month plus perks. Entrepreneurs can earn above Rs.30,000/- per month. Airline professionals get fringe benefits of free travel for self and family also, apart from numerous other perks.

Aeronautical Engineering is offered by the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, Mumbai, Kanpur and Kharagpur and also by the Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. The Madras Institute of Technology offers a three year Graduate Programme in Aeronautical Engineering for B Sc students, subject to their having passed Maths and Physics at the graduation stage. Biomedical Engineering : Remuneration & Salary

Fairly decent pay scale can be expected for a Biomedical Engineering professional. The remuneration depends up on the working area, the companies and 
the institutions. Those who are working in private hospitals and clinics can earn between Rs 20,000 and 30,000 per month. In research and teaching institutions the pay scale varies between Rs.22,000-35,000 per month, while in medical equipment manufacturing companies one can earn Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000. The pay scale in the government sector is slightly low as compared to the private sector. In government agencies, the pay package per month varies between Rs.20,000 to Rs.28,000 per month.
Abroad, a biomedical graduate receives an average salary of $39,126 annually while a postgraduate gets an average of $61,000 annually.


Biomedical Engineering : Institutes
There is a bright scope for bio-medical engineering, and several Indian as well as institutes abroad offer courses in Biomedical Engineering. But it is important to note that choosing an institute with good facilities and infrastructure will go a long way to get ahead in this profession.
