India beat Pakistan as Virat Kohli's 183 wins the day

It was meant to be a massive total which would take the match to the wire. In the end, India's vice-captain Virat Kohli made it his night and helped his team to a 6-wicket win in a rather simple manner despite the target of 330.

Pakistan bowlers were systematically dismantled as the chase reflected India's perfect planning after conceding runs by the dozens. The chase may have begun disastrously as Gautam Gambhir fell in the first over. It however brought Kohli to the middle to partner Sachin Tendulkar (52). The two stabilised the innings and struck together 133 runs for the 2nd wicket.

It helped India build a solid foundation from where the attack was a natural consequent. Tendulkar edged Saeed Ajmal but was replaced by Rohit Sharma whose cautious approach was more of a boon for the rather aggressive Kohli at the other end. The two hit 172 runs between each other before Sharma fell to Umar Gul on 68.

The damage though, had been done as Kohli gave direction and purpose to his mighty heaves, leaving Pakistani fielders with only dropping shoulders to show for their efforts.

Although Kohli was eventually dismissed by Gul, the win was sealed by  Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni who completed the formalities.

India now rake in eight points from three matches, a point behind Pakistan. Had India won the match before or in the 40th over, a bonus point could have been earned. The men in blue though, will take this win with open arms. This also was India's highest ODI run-chase, the previous best being 326 against England in 2002.

Disable Facebook Timeline App

Facebook timeline is a great way of displaying your old photos, memorable posts and apps with your friends and family. This feature changes your entire Facebook Profile layout into a more attractive look. I previously wrote a tutorial on how to Enable Facebook Timeline Feature and today I am sharing the tutorial on how to completely remove the timeline app from your profile and revert to older Facebook profile layout. Since this time-based story telling did receive mixed feedback therefore it would be really helpful for most of you to learn how to undo/delete this application.

How To Disable Facebook Timeline Layout?

1. Log in to your Facebook account.
   
   
2. Then visit this page Developers.
   
   
3. Towards your left you will see apps. Choose the app you created for timeline. In my case I named it Timeline Feature.
   
   

    4.     Click the Edit Settings link,

     5.   Then on the settings page towards bottom-left you will see many options underrelated links, Choose Delete App. Which will delete the timeline app.

       6.   Confirm to delete the app and Bingo you have successfully shifted back to the older Profile view.

How do I set up video calling?

To start a video call with a friend you will first need to complete a quick, one-time setup: 

1. To call a friend, click the video icon at the top of your chat window.
2. Simply click the “Set Up” button and follow the easy instructions for how to set up video calling on your favorite browser.
3. Once installed successfully the video call will start automatically or you can ring back your friend by clicking the video call button at the top right corner of your friends profile.

How do I start a video call with a friend?

After the one-time set up you are now ready to make your first call:

1. Visit your friend’s profile and click the “Call” button in the top right corner. You can also click the video icon at the top of the chat window.
2. When your friend answers, be patient and wait for sometime till both your web cams are inter connected.
3. If your friend is unavailable or offline, you can leave a video message. That's indeed more like Yahoo's Voice service.

For all these steps to correctly work you must make sure that both your webcam and microphone are connected to the right slots and are in a running condition. You can still use video calling even if you don't have a webcam. You will be able to talk to and see your friend but your friend will be able to hear your voice only.

Reverse the mouse buttons

1) No context menu

What will you see when you right click on the desktop? You will see a context menu which says arrange icons, refresh,..and so on. Are you angry at your friend for not wishing you for you B'day? Do you wanna play a trick on a newbie in your family who is new to computers? This is a cool trick to play. By this tweak, you will be able to disable the right click on the desktop or any icons/files/folders/applications... 

But right click will work on taskbar of the start button and registry. So, dont worry!!! 
Open your registry and you will see all unknown files like HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT....... and so on. Don't panic. Follow this path. 

HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRENT VERSION>POLICIES>EXPLORER.

 On the right side of the registry, you will see two files(in general) named 'default' and 'NoDriveTypeAutoRun'. Right click on the empty space in the registry and goto New>DWORD VALUE and name it as "NoViewContextMenu". Remember, no spaces and N,V,C,M should be capitals. Right click on this and click modify. The default value will be 0. Change it to 1. Note: DONOT CHANGE THE HEXADECIMAL TO DECIMAL. Click OK. Close your registry and logout. Bingo!!! Once you login again, right click wont work. Your friend will be perplexed and the next thing he/she does is call the system administrator not knowing that not all system administrators will be knowing about registry. Now, to enable it again. follow the same path and set the value to 0. Logout and then login to see the effect.

2) Reverse the mouse buttons

This is a cool trick to play on newbies. Actually, there are two ways to do this. One is changing the settings in the Control panel and the other is through editing registry. You can do it either way. But I prefer the second way, which is challenging. 
(i) Through Control Panel - goto Start> Control Panel> Printers and other hardware> Mouse. In Button configuration, enable the switch primary and secondary buttons option and click OK. But remember, you have just swapped the mouse buttons. So, for OK, you have to click the right mouse button. The newbie will be perplexed. Well, this trick is good for left handers.
(ii) Editing the registry - By default the left mouse button is the primary and the right is secondary. Open your registry and follow this path:
HLEY_CURRENT_USER>Control Panel>Mouse and on the right side of the registry, create this String value(REG_SZ): 'SwapMouseButtons' and set its value to 1. Bingo!!! You are done. Log out/Restart the computer. 

You can try this: Combine tricks 1 and 2. That means, this will result in swapping of the mouse buttons and disabling the left click(once the buttons are swapped). User is ready to call system administrator cuz he feels that the system is behaving wildly.

The employment opportunities offered by these companies are very much lucrative, but that does not stop the Indians from admiring government more than private jobs.

The biggest factor that usually plays in the mind is job security. The population of India is growing like anything and so are the living costs. Under such circumstances, one cannot risk being kicked out of a job for not being able to perform according to the expectations of the employers. All of us want to have a steady income to meet our family needs without having to worry much about job security. The working culture in most private companies is very competitive and they don't hesitate to replace a candidate with someone else whom they think would bring them more profits. This is a fairly common practice and they do this without giving enough time to the candidate to find himself a new job. The compensation offered to the candidate while firing him is also very little. Under such circumstances it becomes very difficult for a conservative Indian to find himself a new job without losing his dignity. No wonder, the Indians prefer the security of government jobs over the huge compensation and growth opportunities offered by the private companies.

There is one more problem also. The cost of establishing a business unit in India is very low and within the reach of all kinds of private investors. This makes it very easy for the private companies to shut doors whenever they run into losses and stop functioning entirely. Whenever this happens, it is the employees who are left running from pillar to post looking for a new job to sustain their families. Such things have happened in India quite a number of times in the recent years and people seem to have learnt their lessons.

In private companies, people are expected to work for long hours. This is something that Indians find difficult to live with. Indians not only love to spend a lot of time with their families, but also spent some time pursuing their personal interests and hobbies. In this country family comes first; money and carrier growth are actually secondary. No wonder, most people in this country prefer low-paying jobs with low working hours compared to high paying jobs with high working hours. The government jobs just fit the bill!

How to Write a Fiction Story For A Film

Fiction films have gained immense popularity over the last couple of years and now it seems that every new writer on the block wants to sell a fiction story to film makers. There's a huge demand for fiction scripts in the market but, not many writers can churn out a good fiction story. Here are some tips to help you put together a fiction story:

· Carry a notepad to settle all those ideas that come at odd hours. Review old fiction movies frequently to get fresh ideas. This might sound a bit odd, but the old movies had much more "story" in them because they were low on technology and special effects.

· Adapt 'Darwinian' ideas on natural selection. Give your protagonist the worst possible fate, but give him strength so he emerges the fittest and survives hell or high water.

· Do not run your computer as soon as you have a fantastic first scene, or a grand last scene. These are the easiest. What about the middle? It's a good idea to stat from the end of the story and work your way to the beginning. That way all pieces of the puzzle would fall in place.

· Make a melodica (outline) and then detail the whole story. If the story is well detailed, you won't get lost in the middle. It's tough, but if you develop the habit of taking a detailed approach, your mind would learn to think better gradually.

· Create high contrast characters. High contrast would give you more creative space and you can also change the entire story by making subtle changes here and there.

· Once you start writing, do not stop. Maintaining pace is very important because you don't want your mind to get clouded with fresh ideas every now and then after freezing on a basic storyline. You should go ahead without fear or hesitation because you don't have to show it to anyone and have all the time in the world o plug loopholes.

· Don't go for fancy words. Stick to simple and easy to understand language. You don't want a literary masterpiece - you want a fiction movie story!

· Always have in mind what the spectators know and do not know at the time of the story, what they expect and what they don't. Play around with their expectations. Find out different ways of furnishing information.

· Put in tons of "conflict and surprise" elements. But, make sure you don't go overboard. Remember that every fiction film needs to have a solid (not cloudy) ending and you don't have a whole day to tell your story. Make it short, to the point, full of surprises and imaginative.

UPSEE-2012 (Engineering Entrance Exam)

Uttar Pradesh Technical University conduct entrance examination for the technology professional course aspirants by the name Uttar Pradesh Technical University State Entrance Examination, UPTU SEE. The exam is normally scheduled by the Mahamaya Technical University, Noida.  A number of technical institutes under private and public institutions in the state offering courses like Engineering, Management, Architecture, Fashion and design, Computer application etc. are taking this exam mandatory for the students to have admission into these institutes. Every year a large number of candidates are taking this exam to pursue their career in the field of Engineering.

Structure of UPTU SEE Engineering

The UPTU SEE Engineering Entrance examination is an objective type question paper with multiple choices. The candidates will be given four or five options and should select the correct option as answers. There will be no negative marking for the wrong answer. The question paper consists of 150 questions with total marks 600. The areas covered under this paper is,

Physics: 50 questions

Chemistry: 50 questions

Mathematics: 50 questions

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must pass plus two under the UP board or from the recognized board as per the UPTU notification. They must study Mathematics with Physics and Chemistry in the higher secondary level. The candidates must have at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination The SC/ST candidates will get the 5% relaxation in the minimum requirement. The minimum age of the applicant should be 17.

How to Apply?

The candidates can either apply by online or offline. The application form with the information booklet will be available through the head post office at UP, Delhi and Dehradun. The candidates can also apply online through the websites, www.mtu.ac.in  and www.uptu.ac.in. The cost of the application form with the information brochure is Rs.1000/-.

How to fill the Form?

For the online applicant the directions will be available in the website itself. They have to follow the instruction and take the print out of the completely filled form. The print out along with the DD of the application form must be sent to the contact address. The offline applicants need to read the brochure for filling the form. The application form is of optical reader type and hence extra attention is needed for filling the form.  They can take the photocopy of the application form and fill it first in order to avoid the errors. After entering all the needed information verify the columns and send this to the set address. The candidates must send the filled application form either by Speed post or by Registered post.
